What does low-e glass mean?

Low-e stands for “low emissivity”. Low-e is a very thin film of metallic coating on the glass that reduces radiant heat transfer through the glass. The lower the emissivity the lower the heat allowed to be radiated and the higher the reflector (re-radiation).

What type of window is best, wood or vinyl?

Vinyl windows have become the most popular windows used in new construction homes today. Vinyl windows are almost virtually maintenance free, i.e., they do not require painting, will not rot; etc.

What is tempered glass?

A heat treated process that causes the glass to disintegrate into small pieces, if broken. It is less likely to cut or be harmful.
