| In the early 1950's, Mr. W.L. Pennington and his son R.E. founded the Ashland Lumber Company in a small Eastern Kentucky town. The family business served local customers with quality construction, materials and tools. They formed a separate entity that manufactured aluminum windows and doors. The company incorporated in 1956 and became Pennco Inc. - a regional manufacturer of aluminum doors and windows. In 1961, the Penningtons closed the lumber business in order to put their full efforts into Pennco.
With R.E. Pennington's leadership, Pennco custom-engineered the tool and die equipment in order to manufacture quality windows and sliding patio doors.
In the early 1970's, Pennco began to make thermal-break aluminum windows. During the late 1980's, Pennco began to transition from aluminum windows to predominately vinyl windows. By the 1990's, the company responded to consumer demand by adding vinyl windows and doors manufacturing in a well designed, cost competitive product line.
Now in the 21st century, a dedicated executive team guides the company as Pennco continues to offer the building industry state-of-the art robotics technology, world-class service and American craftsmanship. |
